Drone Guidance

As Drones are used more and more in quarries and we find more uses for them, it’s important to understand the legislation governing their use.

It is the Civil Aviation Authority that is the regulatory body for the operation of drones (not the HSE), and the legislation and guidance is developing dynamically.

The Quarries National Joint Advisory Committee (QNJAC) has acted to help you through this potential minefield with the development and introduction of quarries specific guidance on the use of drones in quarries. If you use a drone in your quarry, even if it’s just a personal one, It’s important for you to understand the requirements.

There are links to the guidance below along with some signage which you can download and use in your operation.
